I’m just a guy who feels called by God. I’ve tried finding Him all over the place. I thought I found Him in Catholicism, but I’ve discovered many problems with Christian theology and scripture. A few years ago I did the unthinkable – I investigated Islam’s claims. I’m still investigating Islam and reading the Quran. This blog is intended as a record of my investigations and as a means to share the often surprising things I’m finding out.
UPDATE: On February 6th, 2012, I took my shahada. I intend to continue this blog, sharing my experiences as a new Muslim. I have so very much to learn, so hopefully this blog will continue to be interesting to readers. Salaam.

Salaam. Studies are coming along pretty well. I continue to make my way through the Qur’an (I bought the MAS Abdel Haleem translation, per your recommendation) and am awaiting a copy of The Book of Essential Islam, which is published by the same folks who publish Muhammad Asad’s translation of the Qur’an. I really need to make it to a local masjid sometime soon. How have you been?
